One of the most important things that you can have on the field with you is a barrel swab or cleaner. When paintballs break in your barrel, you need to be able to clean it quickly to keep you in the game, otherwise your paint will just fly all over the place! There are multiple styles of barrel cleaners, everyone has their own preference, some have their own edge over the rest! Squeegee style swabs can typically be used while your barrel is still on your marker, which is ideal for using in the middle of a game. Fuzzy style swabs usually are the most common, and get a fantastic clean, but for the most benefit you do need to remove your barrel to use them, otherwise you are just pushing all the broken paint to the back of your barrel / to your bolt. There are also “pull through” squeegees which are one of the most effective barrel cleaners out there, however as the name implies, they must be pulled through the barrel in order to be used.
