The Luxe IDOL. The next step in the long line of DLX Technologies flagship paintball marker. The TM40 took the Luxe and gave it the flawless performance that players needed to win on the field. The TM40 also brought new features to the platform, such as full tool-less disassembly, full swap from electronic to mechanical in seconds, refined performance, and incredible ergonomics. The Luxe IDOL is set out to be one of the most technologically advanced paintball markers of all time, and will have more changes and features on it from any other previous model change.
With a new marker comes a lot of new features. With Ryan Moorhead of Houston Heat playing an integral role in the IDOL's conception, the IDOL carries forward design cues from previous models the same way a supercar would. Keeping the Luxe aesthetic intact without compromising its iconic look entirely.
The grip frame has steered clear of bulky frames and plastic contact surfaces. The IDOL has eliminated all screws and snap grips found on the TM40, and now utilizes a metal backstrap to snap the new grips in place. The rest of the grip has been changed immensely, adding tactile feel and uses tough material for increased durability. The removable backstrap comes off to reveal the battery, tournament lock, and USB-C port for programming or charging. With the new HD screen in the grip frame, the grips were designed to be water resistant, providing protection to the electronics.
The trigger shape has been redesigned to keep up with the changing look of the marker and how the game is played today. With a shallow deuce trigger design, this provides the user with a more responsive trigger that is always accessible in any playing position.
The foregrip panel now locks into the body itself and eliminated any kind of obstruction for the barrel threads. The fore grip has also been milled down significantly to allow for more contact points with the IDOL, giving you complete control.
The ASA has been redone with a flat lever for the IDOL. This small feature makes it so there aren't any accidental engagements to air up the marker. The lever is now made of stainless steel to enhance durability and prevent bending. The activation pin is now made of quality naval brass to help combat any kind of corrosion.
For the first time since 2008, the stock barrel has been completely redesigned. Matching the IDOL's aesthetics, this new design offers more functionality. The threads remain the same Luxe threading seen over the years, and there are zero external cutouts on the barrel. With no cutouts in the barrel back, there's nowhere for dirt, moisture, or debris to go, and makes cleaning your barrel much easier. All Luxe IDOL's will come with two inserts; one Small Bore, and one Large Bore, and remains Freak XL insert compatible.
Eliminating loctite plugs from the frame air transfer ports, the IDOL uses a floating double-seal made from stainless steel, and uses urethane o-rings to eliminate the possibility of air leaking when components separate. Because these seals move freely, if any part of the frame or ASA becomes loose, your marker will not leak.
The bolt system has been updated to allow for fine-tune fitment, alignment, and better shot quality. The bolt stroke has been extended, allowing for a multi-stage air release on the ball which reduces the physical and pneumatic impact. These features combine to allow the IDOL to shoot brittle paint in cold weather with ease. An anti-rollback cone is integrated into the bolt guide, and simulated a flat-faced bolt but giving the benefit of a completely open faced bolt system.
The electronics have been changed dramatically, to keep with advancements and user-friendliness. Between a full-screen HD display and voice feedback, players can get information quickly and program their IDOL easily. The IDOL uses a modular board system, which creates easy repairs, and cheaper components over replacing everything in one go. This also allows for amateur technicians to repair the IDOL easily and without fail.
Lastly, the case the IDOL comes in has been completely redone. Sleek, matte black finish with durable zippers, more compact handle that is removable, and the inside of the case accommodates two sleeves held by bungee cords. The first sleeve holds your IDOL and the second sleeve holds your spare parts kit and additional parts. These sleeves are made with water-resistant tarpaulin material. The spare parts sleeve can hold up to seven barrel inserts, barrel backs, or barrel fronts, which eliminates the need for any extra cases to carry equipment in.
