Paintball Tips and Tricks - How to Store Paint Properly

With many things in life, too much is better than not enough, and that applies to paintballs. It's better to have too much paint, but what do you do with all of the extra paint after you're done playing for the day? There are a few options in this regard. You can put the extra paint into a paintball caddy or ball hauler, or you can leave them in their bags, but then another issue arises. How do you store paintballs properly? Well, we've got a few solutions for you!

If paint is left in their bags/a full case of paint...

Generally, you'd want to leave your extra paintballs in their respective bags, and then have those bags inside of the case they come in. If the case is full, then I recommend rotating the case over onto its side once every week. What this does is it helps alleviate weight that is constantly on the paintballs at the bottom, and helps them keep their shape. After all, you want your paintballs to be round and free of any kinds of dimples or from becoming misshapen. If your paint is leftover in just a bag or two, you can keep them in the bag without the case, just flip them over once every couple of weeks or so.

If paint is left inside of a caddy or ball hauler...

It's the same as before! Just rotate the caddy or ball hauler once a week and you'll keep your paint as fresh as possible.

That's actually really simple. Anything else?

Oh yeah, before I forget to mention, you do need to store your paint in a room that has air conditioning available. Don't leave your paint somewhere that can fluctuate in temperature constantly, this will directly affect the integrity of the shell, and can make your paint unusable. If the paint is too hot, it can expand and possibly start leaking from the seam. If it gets too cold, it can compress and dimple, as well as make the shell way too brittle.

Closing Remarks

If you've got leftover paint and store it properly, then you'll have nothing to worry about the next time you go play! Following these steps and tips will keep the paintballs round, prevents dimples, and ensures accurate shots.
