How to Install the DLX Luxe IDOL Mechanical Frame

The Luxe IDOL has been out for a little while now and has incredible performance! From the shot quality, efficiency, and quality of life features, the IDOL is quickly becoming a popular paintball gun amongst players of all skill levels. But there's one thing that players love about the Luxe platform, and it's the ease of switching over to a fully mechanical paintball gun.

It's here. The Luxe IDOL Mechanical Frame Kit. So how does one install it?

Really simple actually! Before you get started, make sure your IDOL is powered off and there's no air in the gun. Here's a brief step by step guide on how to do so:

  1. Remove the bolt system from the IDOL. This exposes the latch to help take the frame off.
  2. Flip the IDOL over and find the slide-lock. Go ahead and unlock it.
  3. Where the back cap is located should be a latch you can lift up. Flip that latch up and now you can remove the frame from the IDOL
  4. There should be a purple clamp holding the solenoid in place. Unclamp it and remove the solenoid.
  5. Take the Turbo Valve in your mechanical kit, and place it where the solenoid goes. It should snap in place. When it does, use the purple clamp to secure the Turbo Valve in place.
  6. Check to see if the air transfer plug is in the body of the IDOL. If it is, remove it, or remove the one that comes with the Mechanical Frame.
  7. Install the mechanical frame, and lock it in place with the latch and slide-lock.
  8. Re-install the Luxe IDOL core and you're done!

That's it! Now it's review time!

In tandem with the TM40, the DLX Luxe IDOL Mechanical Frame Kit is super easy to install, and you can do so in a minute. Literally. Having the ability to swap from one play style to another is just a fantastic feature that most other paintball guns don't have. As for how the frame feels, shoots, etc, well it's REALLY nice. You're keeping the same Luxe IDOL shot quality that you're used to, and just swapping it over to mechanical is all. Inside of the grip frame, under the grips, is a spring tension system that allows you to get the perfect resistance on your trigger pulls. This gives you more customization with the IDOL, and no other mechanical frame offers this type of system. The trigger itself is also as wide as the trigger guard, giving you more surface area to make contact with. No matter what position you're in, you're going to have some sort of contact with your trigger, and will be ready to fire when you need to.

Closing Remarks

Simply put, the DLX Luxe IDOL Mechanical Frame Kit is what a lot of players were waiting for, and it stays in line with the simplicity of swapping frames around. Going from an electronic paintball gun to a fully mechanical one in a minute or less is incredible. The feel of the trigger pull and having the ability to adjust the tension easily is also a home run as it offer a wide range of customization for the user. Lastly, the trigger itself has a large surface area, and you can fire off shots easily no matter what position you're in. If you have a Luxe IDOL, this is a must have accessory for it!
