How to Install the Shocker ERA Mechanical Frame

With the ever-popular trend of converting your electronic paintball gun to a fully mechanical one, the Shocker ERA has joined! The Shocker ERA paintball marker is a stellar high end gun that has a good amount of quality-of-life features, and turning it into a mechanical gun takes minutes! With that said, we're going to tell you how to install the Shocker ERA Mechanical Frame.

Before we start, you'll need some things.

By some, we actually mean just one thing. You'll need a set of Allen/hex keys as the frame is secured by one screw under the back cap.

Now we can get started. First, we're going to remove the frame.

This is a really easy step-step by process. With that said, here's what to do:

  • Take the ASA knob off from your electronic frame. We will need this for the mechanical frame.
  • Now grab the proper size Allen/hex key for the screw on the frame. Go ahead and take that screw out.
  • Once this screw is out, the frame should come off. This will expose the solenoid. If the air transfer plug is still in the body, go ahead and take it out.
  • The solenoid is held in by a clamp and is plugged into the top board. Unclamp the solenoid and unplug it. It should be effortless to remove now.

Next up is installing the Mechanical Frame and valve.

With the electronic frame and solenoid removed, now we can install the mechanical frame and valve!

  • Take the mechanical valve and place it where the solenoid would go. This piece does match up and lock in place with the small clip on top. Once it's aligned, clamp the mechanical valve in place.
  • Take the mechanical frame and thread the ASA knob in.
  • Take the mechanical frame and install it on the Shocker ERA's body. The mechanical frame has an air transfer plug already in it. The frame hooks in from the front and then should align in the body of the marker.
  • Take the screw that holds the frame in place and re-install it.

And you're done! Now it's time to test your work.

There's only one thing left to do, and that is to put some air on your Shocker ERA and test out your mech frame! The Shocker ERA's mechanical frame feels incredible in the hands, and the grips have grooves in them that your fingers fall into easily. The trigger adjustment is also a stand-out feature. You can remove one side of the grips to expose a spring system for trigger tension. This system is really simple, but it's extremely effective and easy to adjust the trigger to your liking. Whether you want a more loose pull or something that's stiff, you're in complete control. I think my only gripe with this kit is that there isn't an included ASA knob with the frame, but it's such a small one that I'd call it insignificant.

Overall, swapping your Shocker ERA to engage in some mechanized warfare is super simple, and I absolutely love how it feels in the hand. I'd definitely call this product a smash hit, and I highly recommend it to anyone that has a Shocker ERA.
